According to this blog, a Fox News producer recently changed doctors, and the questionnaire the person filled out at the new medical office asked: “Are you concerned about unsecured weapons in the home?”
Strange and incredibly intrusive question, but I had heard this was going to happen with Obamacare. I did not know it was already happening.
Fox’s Judge Andrew Napolitano (everybody likes that guy, including me) explained that the question about firearms comes from a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama. Napolitano went on to say that the question is “exceptionally troublesome,” but noted that Congress approved of the gun question when it passed Obamacare.
“Most people will think they have to answer,” the Judge said. “They don’t need to answer under the law.”
Read again: This is America–you are not required to answer the gun question.
Way cool! Some very valid points! I appreciate you writing this write-up and also the rest of the site is extremely good.
Howdy! I could have sworn I’ve visited this web site before but after looking at a few of the articles I realized it’s new to me. Nonetheless, I’m definitely delighted I discovered it and I’ll be bookmarking it and checking back regularly!

My medical insurance pays for 1 year physical to which a list of questions are given to the physican to ask under Obumo Care, one being about firearms in the home. WHEN I go for my physical and am asked that question I intend to stand up and drop my drawers an request a ‘roid exam!
This is why I go to your blog on a daily basis. You’re up on current events in and out of the woods. I too have filled at a medical questionarre or two and I do not recall this or any other question about guns. Perhaps a pamphlet was given at my childs pedatrician office. I would answer the question like this; “no I am not concerned about unsecure guns in my home, I secure them and rather enjoy shooting them whenever I have the chance.” If this weren’t so scarry it would be funny! BTW, Judge Napolitano is great.
That is why we need to clean house. They all bought in to the Act. “You have to read it to find out- BS, Pelosi.
I was first asked this question 2 years ago when I took my kids in for sports physicals. She (the pediatrician) told me she was required by law to ask.
That’s when I told her it was none of her business…….
BTW, this past Fall the same Doctor didn’t bother asking the question………
It is unreal and has everything to do with Obamacare. I have filled out forms and my wife has done the same and there has never once been anything to do with gun questions In the Dr office. First I ever heard of this from anyone.
I haven’t filled out a great # of medical forms lately, but some. I have NEVER remembered a question about guns and find this unreal. Anybody else?
Certainly you do not have to answer any questions from your doctor that you don’t want to, including that one. They are not law enforcement.
However, that is not the first time questions about guns have shown up in the doctor’s office. That is a standard part of any history taken when children are in the home. This is not a new concept originating with Obamacare.
I’ve had the same question posed to me, and I promptly told them that whatever legal products I may/may not have in my home was certainly none of their business…….
