From the Midwest Buck Quest Facebook Page:
109 inches, found in Southern Illinois. Wow!!!
The 2 extra beams are obviously cool and unique, but check out the antler base. Big around as a pop can! I’ve seen mass like that come out of southern Illinois before.
I went shed hunting today. The snow has finally melted enough. I found 5 total. Two matched sets.
I used some of the tips and advice that I found here on the blog. Prior to today, I have found only two sheds while turkey hunting. And today I found 5. Thanks Mike.
The most impressive thing about that picture is. NO SNOW.
I went out shed hunting last week.
The snow was still knee deep in most spots. I’m suffering from cabin fever so I knew my chances of finding one were slim.
As of today, the snow is finally melting. I’ll be looking in a spot where the deer are yarded up in huge numbers across from a winter wheat field.
M A S S! That’s awesome. I just read the story about Travis’s buck again and man that is one hell of a deer. I love the pic of him holding a soda can next to the bases and clearly the base of that rack is bigger than the can..just awesome! Is it Septmeber yet? Can’t wait for next season
If I’m not mistaking, this shed was found about 2 years ago in either Perry or Washington County. What a find! Never heard of anybody killing this deer either.
Buckzilla!!!! And, agreeing with the other comments that the mass is outrageous. That has to be a tank-of-a-buck to carry that side alone!
That is one of the coolest sheds I have ever seen. Finding that would be almost as much fun as killing a big buck.
Wow! Can you believe the bases on that shed. Would love to see the buck that carries that around. Bet his neck is HUGE!!!!
