From longtime BIG DEER blogger Big Daddy:
Mike: I killed this 166″ buck with my bow today October 28 2017 @ 8:30 AM over a mock scrape I made along his rub line.–Terry “Big Daddy” Murphy
This beautiful buck is a milestone for Big Daddy, as it is the 40th archery-killed buck of his hunting career in PA, which is a one-buck state. Way to go BD!
Thanks for the comments. I have hunted for 50 years the last 40 primarily with a bow for deer. If there is one thing I can say about success on mature bucks it is that it takes commitment and there is no short cut for hard work. I travel 4 hours one way to my hunting grounds an I go there year round to plant food plots, check cameras, etc. Late winter very early spring IMHO is the best time to find where deer have been traveling thru thick brush.
Congrats Big Daddy! Great buck!
Congrats! Good looking deer.
