Today’s guest blog is from Oklahoma hunter Matt Mosley:
Mike: I have been following your website for a few years now and have been watching your show as well. I love them both, as I live to bow hunt. I’m actually a Loan Officer for a living but that is so I can feed my kids and my bow hunting appetite.
This last Sunday I was sitting in my favorite tree stand. It was 45 degrees in southeast Oklahoma. I was surrounded by does in every direction, and I thought to myself, “There has got to be a buck checking in on all of these does.”
Out of nowhere a 150-inch bruiser walks under my stand and stops 20 yards in front of me. I was drawing back on him when I heard a twig break behind me. I peeked over my shoulder and I saw the biggest buck I have ever seen!
He took a step and scent checked the does, took another step and scent checked… I thought I would never get a shot, but then he ran right under me and stopped at 15 yards. I let the Mathews Solocam loose and made a good shot. He went 70 yards and dropped.
This was one of the best moments of my life. He scored 162 2/8!—Thanks, Matt
What a dream buck: points, stickers, great mass, gnarly brow tines, and love that bronze color. Congrats Matt!
Excellent job, I like how you describe your job as a means to hunt. There are many hunters that feel the same way. Great buck, looking forward to doing the same thing in a couple weeks.
Matt congratulations on the awesome buck! Sounds like a dream to be drawn back on a 150″ buck and only to be interrupted by a monster like that that’s even bigger, must have been amazing!!
