From the Virginia Whitetails Facebook page:
Let’s tip our hats to Clyde, who is 100 years old! 100 years old, hunting from a tree stand, and took this buck during muzzleloader. WOW!
I love posting all the bucks from my home state, but this one is the best. Way to go Clyde!
[…] we had found the world’s oldest deer hunter last week, but we just discovered a new frontrunner. Mike Hanback posted about 100-year-old Clyde Roberts, who recently harvested this Virginia 8-pointer. Roberts […]
Are you kidding me! That is the most awesome thing I have seen all year! Congratulations to Clyde on not only a great buck, but still after ’em at 100 years old. My Dad is 81 and still after ’em and you give me hope for many more years. What a great story
That is awesome, and from a tree stand.Great photo!
You said it what a generation. All the self sacrifice they withstood, we should
all take something from them and maybe this country could unite once again.
Way to go Clyde Awesome buck……
Man, to be able to do that at 100 years old is incredible! Congrats to Clyde. And that’s no slouch of a buck either – that’s a mature deer.
Man, that is cool! I have so much respect for that generation. My Granpa is going to be 94 in January. He handed me his old Winchester model 50 12 ga. goose gun this last summer and said he wanted me to have it. I’ll cherish it forever and I don’t let it get dusty…it likes pheasants too. Just trying to imagine the changes that generation has seen, even in the hunting world, will keep a guy busy for a while. Thanks for sharing.
Wow! What a great accomplishment. I think we all hope to continue hunting well into our old age. But at 100 years old- that’s off the chart. Buy that man a beer! I’m buying!
