Hey Mike: I read your post a couple of weeks ago about the best dates to hunt in November. You hit the nail on the head! Thought I would send you this pic to prove your theory was right.
I killed this deer on November 8. As you can see I got to share it with a some very special people. My dad, my 6-year-old son, Briar, and some close family friends, which are not pictured, helped me track him. We lost blood at one point and Briar was the one to put 4 grown men back on track—it doesn’t get any better than that! Keep up the good work Mike and good luck with the rest of your season.–Nathan “Necbone” Crain
Great buck Bone, and way to go Briar, you’re an awesome deer tracker man!
Awesome buck, nice job Necbone. Cool that you could share it with family . Congrats
My lucky day was the evening of the 7th. That’s pretty close to the 8th. Pretty good predictions.
Thanks guys! Dean we rough scored him in the mid 140’s. Hard to tell it in the picture but he broke off what would have been a large tine that was connected to the base of the G3. Not sure if you would call the tine a split or sticker but would have helped his gross score a little. (I am all about the gross, we use nets for fish! LOL)
Mack the picture was taken in the front yard of our cabin. And yes it is paradise – A cabin surrounded by 300 acres with a mile and a quarter strip cut.
Really nice buck Neckbone and really special that you got the young guns out to help find him. What a great experience for a youngster. Bet he’s gonna be a hunter!
One beauty there! Also, if that hill overlooking the water is where you live, you have a bit of paradise…………
Great job Necbone. Great story, and great buck. Any word on a “rough” gross score? Congrats.
