This is perhaps—no, make that definitely—the most unusual Christmas decoration I have ever seen, but in a weird sort of way I think it’s kind of cool.
The lady who posted this picture to Facebook told NBC Montana that reaction has been mixed.
“A lot of people were just like, ‘Well, be glad it’s dead. You don’t have to worry about it eating your pets…but I don’t know. To me, it’s morbid, it rings of animal cruelty.”
But Sanders County Sheriff Tom Rummel says the hanging animal is perfectly legal. For one thing, a coyote is a predator (and a deer killer) and not a game animal. The lawman went on to say that because the coyote is already dead, it’s not an issue of animal cruelty.
Cool, but don’t try this at home.
There’s a little coin and a nice hide hanging right there!
Haha I have mixed feelings about this one. The coyote hating side of me loves it, but the responsible and ethical hunter in me feels like it’s a bit distasteful. If a hunter didn’t shoot it then that’s different, but if one did then this is just giving the anti’s more ammunition. Out here in Arizona they host Coyote hunting tournaments with big prizes, due to Coues deer being so small it’s not nearly as hard for a coyote to bring one down in comparison to them trying to bring down a 200lb midwestern whitetail. They really damage the herd numbers out here.
Coyotes are beautiful……….. when they are dead!!!
Cool decoration!
Now that is one of the finest looking coyotes I have seen in a while! Tree would look better with about 20 of em in it!
Soon as January hits it’s time to bust some Coyotes. Can’t wait!
