This monster is rampant on Facebook right now, causing all sorts of commotion; Ryan C., who found the deer, posted:
I guess it’s time for everyone to meet Roadie. He was found in Leawood, KS dead on the side of the road. And yes…I do have a salvage tag.
Speculation is that this buck scores in the 190-200 range, with some saying as high as 212 gross. Ryan says he is going to wait 60 days for the rack to dry and then have it officially scored.
What a shame. And no doubt some people in the area were bowhunting this buck, it will be interesting to see if and when any trail camera pictures of him start popping up.
I’d guess him to have a:
26″ spread
24″ mains x 2= 48″
11″ & 9″ g²s= 20″
13″ & 13″ g³s = 26″
11″ & 9″ g⁴s = 20″
8″ brows x 2 = 16″
3.5 & 2.5 splits off brows = 6″
2.5″ kicker off g³ = 2.5″
Figure a conservative 5″ circumference around bases and other 6 measurable circumferences 8 × 5″ = 40″
Total gross =209 4/8″ gross score
That is a dandy typical buck! Man some big bucks have been hit by vehicles over the years. I heard of a big road killed buck in MN and the guy who picked it up ended up selling it for around $10,000. I would have much rather seen this buck on the cover of some magazines with an honest, ethical hunter taking him though.
192 gross, net 188
What did you base that one, pure guess? I think it’s off by quite a bit.
Not a believer, I’ve seen 200″ but that appears closer to 300″+ additionally no green score?? His FB shows he hunts and fishes, everyone I know would had a tape on it while it was still in the truck
E Gads! Brings new meaning to the term Roadie. Congrats to Ryan C.
