Strangely, there has been a run of hunting cakes popping up on the Internet. The big-buck wedding  cake is sweet and a Web sensation. Very lifelike and what a huge rack! Notice the attention to detail, right down to the antler-grip knife handles. The Yeti (one of our great sponsors) cake is very cool. Only thing I would have done differently was to have a fresh, bloody back-strap hanging out the edge instead of the trout, but still awesome. This last one we posted before, but I figured it was a good time to show it again. I still say the arrow is too far back and a little too high, but maybe it would have clipped the liver.

I am a lucky man for having spent the better part of my life hunting in wild and remote places like the one you see here, and I never take that for granted. I am just back from 5 days in this remarkable moonscape, where I hunted and glassed and climbed from dawn to dusk in search of a mule deer buck, side-hilling and sliding down into those bottoms, and then clawing my way back up and out again. It was the most physically grueling hunt I have experienced in years…and one of the most rewarding. I cannot tell you where I was or reveal the ending just yet, as the final chapter has yet to be written.
