The Pennsylvania Game Commission has reported that hunters killed an estimated 343,110 deer during the 2012-13 season, an increase of about 2 percent over the previous year. Hunters shot 133,860 bucks and 209,250 antlerless deer.
In my home state of Virginia, 213,597 deer were reported shot, including 96,712 antlered bucks, 18,061 button bucks and 98,781 does. The 2012 kill was down 8% from the previous year.
Post your state’s harvest data from last season so we can build a database and see and compare figures.
Looking back, how was your season? Was the kill up or down? Your observations as to why?
You have made some decent points there. I checked on the net for more information about the issue and found most individuals will go along with your views on this web site.
Pretty! This was an incredibly wonderful article. Thank you for providing these details.

Look at the anterless harevest numbers for Pa. well over 200,000 most were carrying or had the potential to carry 2 fawns (of which half of those were males) each that equates to 600,000 deer out of the state’s herd in just one year…is it any wonder sportsmen & women are fed up with the state’s game managers?
18,061 button bucks worries me. That’s not just a few people misjudging does…that’s a big number. Or, is this a management strategy that I’m unfamiliar with?
BigA @Twitter says: record year here in Arkansas. Last i checked we were upto 200,000+ with a month of bow season left.
