From the Missouri Dept. of Conservation:

On the evening of Wednesday, March 13, an antler shed hunter discovered a large, near-record set of non-typical antlers while searching the August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area in St. Charles.

Preliminary reports say the rack has 37 points and scores in the 270s. The buck was likely 5 ½ to 6 1/2. It will be one of the top 5 NT bucks ever grown in Missouri.

Nobody knows for sure what killed the buck last summer/fall, but it’s safe to assume he was another victim of the big EHD outbreak of 2012.

BTW, the shed hunter gets to keep the rack that he found on state land, but a paper he was issued states he cannot sell it for profit.
